A self-initiated demo build showing how a plumbing business's site can lead with same-day availability, credentials and a fast route to a callout.
The brief
The challenge
Plumbing enquiries are often urgent, so the brief (set by me, for this demo) was to make availability, Gas Safe credentials and a call/WhatsApp route to contact obvious within the first screen. The same problem real plumbing clients bring.
The build
My approach
Built as a fully custom Next.js site: a hero that leads with the emergency callout number and a fixed-quote promise, a trust strip for credentials (Gas Safe, CIPHE, insurance), and clear service-area coverage. No real business, pricing or contact details behind it. It's a working example, not a live company.
Built for speed
Google measures every site against a 0 to 100 PageSpeed Insights score: how fast it loads, how usable it is for people relying on assistive tech, whether it follows modern web best practices, and whether it's set up correctly for search. It matters because Google uses page speed as a ranking signal, and most visitors on a mobile connection will leave a slow site before it even finishes loading.
